Captain’s Report

 

Things we did well

 

Warm up was done well.

 

Openers’ set a platform in difficult conditions.  Ratter’s played very well.

 

Andy Bayley batted very well at #6.  If 5-7 are not out at end, a decent score will usually be made.  Andy’s

Keeping was also very good.

 

The opening bowlers took wickets.  Saquib especially needs a mention.

 

The fielding was reasonable - Will Selwood setting the standard.

 

Suman (or ‘Superman’ as he is known now) bowled superbly well, together with Hassan.

 

 

Things to Improve

 

I would like all of the team to warm-up

 

Batters 1-4 should be harder on themselves.  If one of them is not out at the end the game will usually be won.

 

Innings fell-away a little in the middle order - at 101-2 after 33 overs was a good platform to move from.

 

Too many runs conceded when we bowled at the beginning.  I felt we were losing control until wickets were taken.

 

Despite an OK Performance fielding can be improved.  Need more intensity in this area.

 

 

SUMMARY

 

I really enjoyed the game and am happy to get off to a winning start.
